Breast Lift

Breast lift (medically called mastopexy) is an operation in which the tip of the sagging breasts is moved higher and the breast is given a rounder, fuller and firmer form.

IS MY BREAST drooping?

If your nipple is at or below the level of the inframammary fold, your breast is considered as a drooping breast according to plastic surgery books. But the main criterion is what you see in front of the mirror. Our patients who apply to us usually complain that your nipples are pointing down, that the upper part of the breast is empty, or that their breasts are too low without a bra.

Breast volume increases during pregnancy and weight gain. If the breast volume becomes too small after pregnancy or after weight loss, the enlarged skin hangs down because it will not shrink.

CAN DROPPING BE CORRECTED BY JUST PUTTING A BREAST Implant?

Although breast lift surgery results very well in experienced and skilled hands, it is a scar operation. I explain these scars in detail to every patient who applies to me. In patients who do not want these scars and do not have serious sagging; Only the placement of a breast implant significantly improves the appearance and aesthetics of the breast. Correction of breast aesthetics by placing a breast implant will not be successful in all cases. Breast lift surgery should be performed in cases where there is severe excess skin, sagging and the nipple is too low.

HOW ARE TRACES LEFT IN BREAST LIFT SURGERY?

In this surgery, the nipple is moved up to where it should be within aesthetic dimensions and excess skin is removed. Round and straight lines extending from the nipple to the nipple remain around the nipple. These scars may be red-purple in the early period. Over time, in most of the patients, the color of the scars fades and a white line close to the skin color occurs.

IS A implant INSTALLED IN BREAST LIFT SURGERY?

I often put a breast implants in breast lift surgery. If the lack of volume in the upper part of the breast is very evident, a more successful result will be obtained with the application of breast implants in this surgery. In addition, since the placed breast implant does not sag with the effect of gravity like the breast tissue, the volume in the upper part of the breast (decollete area) is preserved for a longer time.

CAN A SUCCESSFUL SURGERY BE DONE BY JUST SUSPENDING BREAST TISSUE WITHOUT INSURING A implant?

My answer to this question — will depend on the degree of sagging. For example: I think it is not healthy to use only the suspension method in a patient whose entire breast hangs down, with no tissue left in the upper part of the breast. The breast tissue suspended above is trying to return to its former place. When you try to raise a breast that is too low, maybe the result will seem successful in the early period, but it will sag again quickly.

In a breast with less sagging and sufficient tissue in the décolleté area, very successful results will be achieved with only the suspension method.

It will be much more successful to put a breast implant in addition to an erection in a very sagging and hollow breast.

In a breast with less sagging and sufficient breast volume in the upper part, very successful results will be achieved with the breast suspending method.

HOW IS THE HEALING PERIOD AFTER BREAST LIFT?

After breast lift surgery, you stay in the hospital for 1 day. Walking is started at the 4th hour of the operation. It is not a painful surgery. After 1 day, patients gain mobility and can easily do their private work and self-care. Return to work is usually possible within 1 week. If the patient does not have a wound healing disorder (excessive wound healing), the surgical scar disappears within 3-6 weeks and becomes less visible within 6-9 months.

CAN IT BE BREASTED AFTER BREAST UPGRADING?

The most frequently asked question about breast lift is whether milk can be given after the surgery. After this surgery, the amount of milk to be given may decrease, but the majority of patients breastfeed easily.
